The reputation of Yamaha’s ever-popular range of RX Series AM/FM Stereo Receivers will surely be enhanced with the introduction of the RX-797B.

The RX-797B (100W x 2, 8 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 0.019%THD) has high dynamic power, low-impedance drive capabilities for accurate reproduction of music’s high peaks and dynamic range. Linear damping provides superior sound articulation and continuously variable controls for loudness and bass, treble and balance deliver smooth and accurate midrange and tonal response over a wide range. In addition, extended frequency response allows the receiver to handle a wide dynamic range, making it fully compatible with two-channel DVD-Audio, Super Audio CD and other new formats.

Pure Direct switching guarantees the best sound reproduction quality possible by allowing the signal to bypass non-essential controls and circuits and travel directly to the discrete power amplifier via the shortest and most direct signal path. Overall sound quality is further enhanced on the RX-797B by the inclusion of Yamaha’s exclusive ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology) design features.

The RX-797B is a logical choice for custom installation, with extensive connections and enhanced multi-zone control capabilities. It features a Zone 2 audio output so that music can be enjoyed in a second room. In addition, audio can be sent to three different zones in your home via the main zone speaker output, Speaker B output and zone 2 audio output. There is also a main/zone 2 power switch and two input/one output remote terminals. The feature-packed RX-797B also provides a video output for zone 2, record-out selector, pre-main couplers, 12 volt trigger and additional zone 2 remote.

The RX-797B also includes remote controllable input selection and motor-driven volume control, speaker A, B or A+B selection, phono pre-amp, tape monitor switch and AM/FM tuner with 40 station digital presets.
