The RX-V1600B (120W x 7, 8 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 0.04%THD) is one of the first receivers in its class to offer 2-in/1-out HDMI switching with up-conversion features. This process provides the most advanced method of delivering high-quality video to a home theatre system, allowing you to enjoy DVD and satellite TV with HD quality. Compatible with the HDMI Ver. 1.1 format, it can also decode digital audio signals including DVD-Audio, CD, Dolby Digital and DTS.
The RX-V1600B also allows video composite, S-video and component signals to be up-converted to HDMI output, with a TBC (Time Base Corrector) that stabilises the video signal. A video de-interlacer, superior to any other in this class of receiver, effectively delivers best-quality progressive video images.
Advanced zone 2 and zone 3 features on-board the RX-V1600B provide true multi-room flexibility. You have the option to operate 5.1 channels in your theatre while running stereo in Zone 2; or to run 3.1 channels in your theatre while running stereo in Zone 2 and Zone 3 simultaneously. Dual-programmable 12-volt trigger outputs and an RS-232C port further enhance the custom installation features of this versatile and impressive receiver.
The RX-V1600B features powerful 7-channel amplification and employs Yamaha’s Digital ToP-ART (Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology) design concept to maximise digital sound quality, with several operation modes that provide short, direct signal paths for even greater sound clarity. Audiophiles will be impressed by the inclusion of audio-grade Burr-Brown DACs, which deliver superlative sound quality. High quality stereo sound reproduction is further enhanced by Yamaha’s upgraded Pure Direct Switch with a zero Intermediate Frequency (IF) and low-jitter Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) circuit.
Yamaha Parametric Room Acoustic Optimiser (YPAO) simplifies the home theatre setup process by automatically analysing room acoustics and setting parameters for optimum sound quality at the listening position, all at the touch of a button. The entire process takes less than three minutes––and with YPAO, the user can be assured of ‘professionally calibrated’ surround sound quality. Six YPAO settings can be stored in the receiver’s memory.
The RX-V1600B delivers a rich and realistic surround sound performance through a choice of 19 surround programs including all the Dolby and DTS formats, CINEMA DSP programs, HiFi DSP programs and five THX programs including Select2.
