The Installation Series loudspeakers are the showpieces of Yamaha’s long history of sound reinforcement products and are Yamaha Commercial Audio’s first complete line of top-end sound reinforcement loudspeakers designed specifically for installation purposes.
The Installation Series comprises a comprehensive selection of full-range, high-frequency and dedicated subwoofer models, each of which include seamlessly integrated enclosures, hardware, components and crossover networks that have been engineered to exceed the requirements of the medium-to-large scale touring and installation markets.
Manufactured in the USA, the Installation Series reflects the same construction precision and rigorous specifications found in Yamaha’s musical instruments and professional audio gear.
The Installation Series comprises several distinct models with up to four different horn configurations. Models range from dual 5-inch full-range loudspeakers to 15-inch, 3-way loudspeakers, plus four subwoofer models. Each loudspeaker utilises B&C drivers and can be stacked, arrayed or hung. In addition, multi-angled cabinets can be used as floor monitors.
The exceptional uniform phase response is key to the accurate sonic performance of the Installation Series, enabling users to mix and match any number or type of speakers without affecting frequency response. Custom, rotatable horns were also developed to enhance high frequency dispersion and response, particularly where space is the primary factor in determining speaker orientation. The series includes a selection of horn coverage patterns, with asymmetrical patterns available on some models.
Constructed of high density Finn Birch, cabinet exteriors feature textured black or white (designated with the suffix, ‘W’) finishes, and may be painted for incorporation into any environment. Full dado joint construction minimizes cabinet vibration, while foam-backed, 14-gauge perforated steel grilles offer additional component protection.
Connections include a barrier strip and dual Neutrik NL4 connectors (3-way models include Neutrik NL8 connectors). A mode selector switch offers a choice of bi-amp, (passive) single-amp, tri-amp, parallel or discrete operation, depending upon cabinet type.
Installation Series cabinets include multiple rigging points for flexible hanging with Yamaha or third-party hardware. All enclosures are pre-fitted with M10 threaded inserts and include a kit containing four forged eyebolts. Standard U-bracket and array-frame hardware is also available for maximum convenience.
